Up until the recent upgrade on Instagram, if you wanted to sell your products you could use sponsored content with a link to your website from where users could buy your products. However, Instagram has recently introduced a shopping feature for business profiles. This feature lets the users buy directly from Instagram, creating ease, convenience and ultimately a better conversion rate from potential leads to customers.
Follow this step by step procedure to activate the shopping feature on your business profile.
Your device should support the latest version of the app.
Before learning how to enable the shopping feature, you should make sure that your account has been registered and approved for shopping.
Activate Shopping Settings;
- Menu
- Settings
- Business
- Shopping (this option will only appear if your account has been approved)
- Continue
- Select a product catalogue
- Done
If the shopping option doesn’t appear in the business menu, do not worry. Your account would probably be under review by Instagram for approval. This process can take a few days; you can repeat the process after a week to check the status of your business profile.
